Planning the Perfect Addition: A Bold New Extension in Falkirk

We’re excited to share one of our latest residential projects, recently submitted to Falkirk Council Building Standards for a Building Warrant. This thoughtful and ambitious design reimagines a typical home layout into something exceptional, both in function and form.

Making Space, Making a Statement

The project begins with the demolition of the existing detached single garage, clearing the way for a bold new two-storey extension. The extension has been carefully angled to make the most of the site’s geometry — a move that’s not just practical, but architecturally striking.

On the ground floor, we’re introducing a spacious double garage along with dedicated storage. This addition addresses the client’s needs for secure, modern utility space while creating a strong base for what’s to come.

A Master Suite With Presence

Upstairs, the extension truly shines. We’re creating a master bedroom suite that feels both generous and dramatic. A vaulted ceiling gives the bedroom a remarkable sense of volume, while a fully glazed front gable floods the space with natural light and frames views of the surrounding landscape.

To enhance the living experience, we’ve integrated the new suite with the existing home by reconfiguring adjacent spaces. The result is a dressing room and private sitting area, perfectly positioned next to the existing balcony — ideal for quiet moments and morning light.

A Space to Unwind

As part of the wider vision for the home, we’re also converting the existing attached double garage into a dedicated cinema room. This transformation turns underutilised space into a welcoming entertainment area — a private retreat for film nights, family gatherings, and more.

Moving Forward

With the design now in for Building Warrant approval, we’re looking forward to the next stage of this project — realising a design that combines function, light, and a clear architectural identity. It’s a great example of how thoughtful interventions can elevate everyday living.
